Continuing to Bolster FOX Entertainment’s Roster of Broadcast Direct Deals

Actor and producer Oliver Hudson (THE CLEANING LADY, “And Just Like That…”) and FOX Entertainment have entered a broadcast direct deal, it was jointly announced today by Hudson and Michael Thorn, President, Scripted Programming, of FOX Entertainment.

Hudson, who starred in Seasons One and Two of FOX’s acclaimed drama THE CLEANING LADY, and his producing partner John Stalberg will develop comedy and drama projects for FOX with FOX Entertainment, which will fully own and distribute series created under the agreement.

“I have been lucky enough to work in front of the camera with Michael Thorn and his team and am now looking forward to collaborating with them to bring my ideas to life with FOX, a network that’s unafraid to push the boundaries to tell stories that entertain and dig into the complexities and quirks of the human condition,” said Hudson. “I have always enjoyed both comedy and drama, so it’s exciting to tackle both as potentially one of the best producers this planet has ever seen!”

“Oliver is a talented, versatile actor and an inspired storyteller who brings an incredible amount of energy to everything he does,” added Thorn. “We are excited to build on our relationship with him and tap into his intense creativity to jointly develop and produce premium dramas and comedies that further grow FOX Entertainment’s robust slate of owned series.”

Separately, Hudson and Joe Buck are currently developing the animated comedy DADDY ISSUES for FOX, with FOX Entertainment and its Emmy Award-winning studio Bento Box Entertainment producing. The ensemble buddy comedy is inspired by the popular podcast that follows the true-life experiences of Buck and Hudson as they try to survive the numerous minefields that come with being dads, husbands and best friends.

In addition to THE CLEANING LADY, Hudson starred opposite Jenna Fischer in the hit comedy “Splitting Up Together,” after previously starring opposite David Spade and Patrick Warburton in the long-running CBS sitcom “Rules of Engagement” for producer Adam Sandler and had recurring roles on “Scream Queens” and the hit show “Nashville.” In addition to “Daddy Issues with Joe Buck and Oliver Hudson,” his “Sibling Revelry with Kate Hudson and Oliver Hudson” is one of the most popular and talked-about podcasts. Hudson’s other recent credits include Robert Zemeckis’ Netflix miniseries “Medal of Honor,” as well as the Chris Columbus produced Netflix feature “The Christmas Chronicles,” alongside Kurt Russell. Hudson began his acting career with a recurring role as a love interest to Katie Holmes on “Dawson’s Creek” and subsequently starred on the Warner Bros. shows “The Mountain” and “My Guide to Becoming a Rock Star.”

Hudson joins FOX Entertainment fast-growing portfolios of broadcast direct deals, including Emmy and Grammy Award-winning producer/director/actor/recording artist Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson (“Power,” “For Life”), Academy Award winning filmmaker Rodney Rothman (“Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse”) and Adam Rosenberg, producers Carol Mendelsohn (“CSI”) and Julie Weitz, writer/producer/director McG (“Supernatural,” “Lethal Weapon,” “We Are Marshall”); writer/ producer Justin Adler (“Life in Pieces,” “Maggie”) and creator/writer/ producer Matt Nix (“Burn Notice,” “The Gifted).
