BRANDON SONNIER

Brandon Sonnier was born in Houston, Texas and attended USC where he graduated with a B.A. in Cinema-Television, Production. At the age of 20, Sonnier became one of the youngest filmmakers ever to premiere a feature film at the Sundance Film Festival, “The Beat” (2003). Throughout the 2000's Sonnier continued writing, producing and directing independent feature films, “The List” (2007), “& Blues” (2008) as well as writing several work for hire screenplays and editing numerous television series and specials.
In 2010, Sonnier teamed up with Brandon Margolis and together they got their start writing broadcast television with 5 seasons on the hit drama series “The Blacklist,” as well as selling several original pilots. Together, "the Brandons" created and were showrunners of Jerry Bruckheimer Television’s Bad Boys spinoff “L.A. 's Finest” starring Jessica Alba and Gabrielle Union. Sonnier lost his right leg below the knee during an on-set accident while filming the season 1 finale of “L.A's Finest” but returned to work shortly after, directing episodes of “L.A.'s Finest” season 2, the cable hit drama, “Hightown” and “Panhandle.” He recently served as a co-executive producer on “SWAT.”
