Actor and comedian Jay Pharoah most recently appeared in the horror comedy The Blackening, theatrically released on Juneteenth 2023. He also was featured in Spinning Gold, the music industry biopic about producer Neil Bogart; Out of Office, alongside Ken Jeong and Oscar Nuñez; and independent comedy Mort In Sherman Oaks, with Lucy Hale and Jim Gaffigan. He starred opposite Cristina Milian in the streaming romantic comedy Resort to Love, for producer Alicia Keys; and the thriller Private Property. Additionally, he was featured in the romantic drama All My Life, opposite Harry Shum Jr.; director Justin Simien’s streaming horror comedy Bad Hair; and 2 Minutes of Fame, for director Leslie Small.
Pharoah starred as "J.J. Evans" in the Emmy Award-winning network comedy event Live in Front of a Studio Audience: All In The Family and Good Times. He previously hosted and produced the cable game show Unfiltered. Perhaps best known for his spot-on impressions, he spent six seasons as a cast member on Saturday Night Live. In 2017, he shifted to his first leading role as "Floyd Mooney" in pay cable's White Famous, executive-produced by Academy Award winner Jaime Foxx and inspired by Foxx’s real-life experiences. Additional film and television credits include animated feature The Mitchells Vs. The Machines, Steven Soderbergh’s Unsane, animated feature Sing, Get a Job, Remote, Lola Versus, Bojack Horseman and Robot Chicken, as well as FOX's Family Guy and The Simpsons.
In addition to acting and his stand-up, Pharoah released his first EP, Spittin Image, in August 2021.
